Standard Draw
A fantasy round robin draw will be created automatically at the conclusion of the player draft.
The draw will utilise as many rounds of the real football competition as possible, excluding the real finals series (if this is exists).
The length of the round robin is determined by the number of fantasy players in your competition and how many full rounds will mathematically fit within the real season draw. There is an option to extend your fantasy round robin draw to utilise the maximum number of matches available (thereby having a skewed final round).
‘Super’ Rounds
Many football leagues encounter rescheduled matches mainly due to higher level club competitions taking teams away for their matches as they are needed.
This will result in those teams missing their original round match time slot (ie. less physical games played in a round’s draw), but also being scheduled into a future (or earlier) double header style weekend to play the catch up game.
Under this circumstance, ‘Loan’ trades will be available on the round that loses matches (if 3 or more teams are missing), and a ‘Super Round’ is created for the round receiving the resheduled match. A club may play twice in a given H2H matchup. Something to watch out for!
FSZ will indicate a ‘Super’ round on the pages where the draw in shown. Depending upon how early or late these reschedules occur, they can be planned for in advance.
Finals Options
The H2H game model has 5 Finals options available to select from prior to the competition starting.
- First Past the Post
No fantasy finals are played at all. The first placed team on the competition ladder at the end of the season is the winner. - Top 2 Teams
The top 2 teams on the competition ladder will play a once off grand final to determine the winner of the season. This will utilise 1 full round of the Football competition - Top 3 Teams
The top 3 teams on the competition ladder will play a mini finals series. Played across two Football rounds, week 1 of the finals sees 2nd vs 3rd , with the winner playing the 1st placed team in the grand final. This will utilise 2 full rounds of the NRL competition. - Top 4 Teams
The top 4 teams on the competition ladder will play a simple finals series. Played across two Football rounds, week 1 of the finals sees 1st vs 4th & 2nd vs 3rd , with the two winners playing the grand final on week 2. This will utilise 2 full rounds of the NRL competition. - Top 4 Teams – 2nd Chance
The top 4 teams on the competition ladder will play an extended finals series, which gives the top 2 teams a safety net of a second chance if they lose the semi final. Played across three Football rounds, week 1 of the finals sees a Major Semi – (1st vs 2nd) & Minor Semi (3rd vs 4th). Major winner goes straight to the grand final. Minor loser is out. Week 2 is the Preliminary Final which pits the loser of the Major Semi with the winner of the Minor Semi. Week 3 is the Grand Final with Prelim Winner vs Major Semi Winner. This will utilise 3 full rounds of the Football competition.
Finals options have intentionally been kept short to give maximum gameplay to the majority of fantasy players wishing to participate in the round robin phase
In the event of a draw in a finals game, the home team for the game will be deemed the winner (first into or higher placed team going into the game).
